Thai Retirement Visa is usually valid for one year with the one year extendable/renewable in Thailand without limitations. If applying for the visa in applicant's home country, there are three categories (Non-OA, Non-OX or Non-O Type). If applying for the visa in Thailand, it's usually called 'Retirement Visa based on Non-O type'. See our VARIOUS OPTIONS.

  1. A foreign national whose age is over 50 years or above.
  2. Must be able to present the financial evidence between:
  • THAILAND BANK ACCOUNT SHOWING THB 800,000; OR
  • PENSION/MONTHLY INCOME OF AT LEAST THB 65,000 *(This option will only be working, if the applicant's embassy in Thailand has still been providing the income verification service.)*
  • PENSION/MONTHLY INCOME × 12 months + SAVING FUNDS TOTALING NOT LESS THAN 800,000 THB *(This option will only be working, if the applicant's embassy in Thailand has still been providing the income verification service.)*

**If you are an American/British/Australian passport holder and your embassy is no longer able to do the income/pension verification and you would like to show the monthly income/pension (above 65,xxx THB per month), it is still possible — but (US/UK/Australian) applicants have to keep transferring the income/pension into their own Thai bank accounts every single month. Thai immigration will want to prove the last 12 month credit advice provided by your Thai bank.**

The main requirements are involved with the applicant's financial evidences, the criminal record check and the medical certificate. In addition, the medical insurance is related to the Non-OA Visa Application in the home country or when renewing the visa in Thailand (based on the Non-OA visa type).
